After completing his MBA at Cape Town University in 1980, Harry started his career in the Standard Bank’s Treasury division. His moved up within 2-years to become Head of Corporate Treasury sales, his responsibilities included all currency and interest rate hedging sales plus money market investments with corporate and institutional clients. From there Harry joined a major French Bank namely Calyon (formerly known as Banque Indosuez), and over the next 5 years of success saw him working in the bank’s Dealing Rooms in Paris and New York. In 1988 the bank posted Harry to Australia to set up the Australian Dollar interest rate hedging book.

In 1995 Calyon transferred Harry to Singapore to be responsible for all Treasury derivative sales for the bank in Asia (ex Japan). A personal choice to re-integrate back into Australia saw Harry returning in 2001 to take on the role as Head of Corporate Treasury sales at St George Bank, managing a total of 60 staff. His interest in the investment side of the Treasury businesses resulted into a lateral move in Wealth Management. A conscious decision was made to join a small and independent wealth advisory firm, which resulted in him joining Beresfords as a Senior Advisor.

Harry loves building close relationships, understanding people’s situation and goals. He enjoys the challenge of creating best outcomes for his clients, working to attain the right work/life balance. When not actively engaged with customer fulfilment he enjoys travelling, with a strong basis to 4WD in the Australian Outback.
